iTunes may become one of the 3 most popular desktop programs soon competing with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Why? Because in addition to supporting over 100 million iPod users, iTunes is key to taking advantage of two new hardware products from Apple; the iPhone and AppleTV. We've added a page on iPods tips that we will keep adding to over the course of 2008. We will be offering a variety of content in support of all these products, however our first effort focuses on the AppleTV device and specifically the added ability to use YouTube with your AppleTV. Our first AppleTV guide is here. So what does this mean to you? First if you are an AppleTV user or considering buying one, you should be happy. AppleTV really is cool for watching downloaded material on your TV as well as YouTube Content, but it gets way more useful if now you can watch rented movies on the device! Forget about waiting for a Netflix delivery, just download and play on your TV. Naturally you can also watch the movie on your video iPod as well as the PC which has iTunes installed. Secondly, one limitation of AppleTV has been the challenge of converting DVDs you purchased into iTunes due to copy protection. Despite the fact YOU paid for these DVds, you can't watch them on anything other than a DVD player or PC equipped with a DVD drive. By licensing Apple's technology, 20th century will now allow its DVDs to be copied onto Apple devices such as AppleTV and iPods for viewing. We will be providing new iTune related guides and other tools each quarter. To subscribe simply click here. Once you subscribe you will automatically be sent the AppleTV-YouTube Guide. One other quick note, did you know you can download college courses to your iPod from iTunes? Check out iTunes U within the iTunes Store for more info! |
